I started going to figure drawing down the street from my house. Pretty cool place, really small only around ten people go. I tried using china marker for the first time. I got them in a kit for drawing class over a year ago and I never used them. I like them and I think I’ll keep using them. They make a very light line, lighter than the charcoal carbothello pencils I usually use. Only down side is that it’s wax so you can’t really erase or push back the drawing.

I passed the first portion of the Portfolio review for the Animation / Illustration program at SJSU. The second part is completing an 80 page sketch book ( 5.5”X8” minimum to 6’X9” maximum, spiral bound book) over summer break. I don’t post on here ever so ill try to post my sketch book drawings here over break. So here we go I started today. One down seventy-nine more to go!

Well, the semester seemed to fly by, although moments of it seemed pretty painful I learned a ton! Here are a few of the pieces I did for my intro to acrylic painting class ( ANI 113A ). Lots of rendering! A LOT of DRAPERY!!!! Maybe to much drapery! My instructor was Inga Poslitur , I linked her name if you want to check out her website, she is very talented to say the least. I wish I had more traditional painting classes ahead of me but starting next year we are switching to digital painting, that is exciting too. I guess the foundation stage of my program is starting to wrap up. Three more years to go! So much to learn!
